Specialization, commitment and professional competence have been distinguishing Impresa Luigi Notari ever since it was established in the 1950s by its founder Mr. Luigi Notari.

Ever since the beginning of its activity Impresa Luigi Notari has been executing works for the consolidation, renovation and construction of viaducts, bridges, road and railway tunnels, motorways and railroads. It also provides waterproofing services through the use of membranes and injection of special solutions.

The growing demand for preservative restoration and redevelopment works, especially in the roads infrastructure industry, allowed Impresa Luigi Notari to acquire an increasingly greater experience in the sector, recognizing the need to invest in appropriate human resources and in the required technology. In the last few years, it developed close partnerships with important industrial groups to carry out research regarding the application of special components for chemical-cement mortars.

The underground works and hydraulic structures are the strong points of Impresa Luigi Notari ever since its establishment. Activities include works in the most diverse environments such as mines, water tunnels (even with very small cross sections), road and railroad tunnels.

The great experience acquired over the years helped the company implement and constantly update the most advanced technology and the best occupational safety systems.

The company’s other strong point is its staff and all the team members who have been working in special environments, passing down their technical skills and the importance of occupational safety.

Other activities that developed alongside the execution of subsoil works consist in the redevelopment, restoration and waterproofing of canals, dams and the defence and regulation of rivers.

The completed works helped build up more specialized competence to address and manage emergency situations and complex problems with the aid of innovative solutions.

The special consolidation works, whether surface or underground, have always been another strong point of Impresa Luigi Notari.

Owing to their special nature, these works are carried out exclusively by our expert staff capable of dealing accurately and autonomously with the complexities that may arise. These processes include injection of resin and concrete solutions, jet grouting, drilling for the laying of foundation piles, micro-piles and tie-rods, rodding and riveting.

The sprayed concrete technique has made Impresa Luigi Notari well-known everywhere in the world.

As a matter of fact, sprayed concrete, or “shotcrete”, is a construction technique that has distinguished Impresa Luigi Notari in the sector for years. The long experience matured in this activity allows it to be a constant reference for designers, public authorities and private companies. Because shotcrete is such a demanding activity, which may sometimes require the use of chemicals, Impresa Luigi Notari implemented very sophisticated robots to replace human labour. The sprayed concrete technique has been used for the restoration and waterproofing of slopes, mines, tunnels, canals, dam facings and structural reinforcements.

Another consolidated activity of Impresa Luigi Notari is the execution of special foundation works.

Foundation works can be underground or on the surface and consist mainly in excavation containment works or to improve the stability of slopes. These works also include the construction of piles and walls. Furthermore, Impresa Luigi Notari is active in other sectors, such as the construction of hydraulic structures, irrigation systems, drainage and reclamation works and environmental protection systems, bio-engineering works, road barriers and protections, etc.
