Impresa Luigi Notari grew from the one-person company to a global public company in 1986.
The one-person company was founded by Luigi Notari who started as a small business, executing specialized works on behalf of major Italian enterprises (Recchi, Girola, Lodigiani, Farsura, Astaldi and others) and power and infrastructure authorities (ENEL, FF.SS, ANAS, Genio Civile, Cassa per il Mezzogiorno) back in the 1940s.
The company collaborated in the construction and reconstruction of major hydraulic structures and hydroelectric power plants in Italy (power stations at Medio Tagliamento-Somplago; Grosio, Lanzada and Frale-Viola in the Valtellina area) and in the rest of the world (Lahodon and Agra in Greece; Karakaia in Turkey). It also worked for the construction of roads, motorways and railway lines (tunnel of Monte Bianco and of the Gran San Bernardo; Milan’s underground line) as well as for the construction of public and industrial engineering works (Milan’s Pirelli Skyscraper).
In addition to highly specialized works (such as for example sprayed concrete and joints, jet grouting, drilling, bolting, installation of tie-rods, piles and waterproofing work) that accounted for the company’s primary activity, it then started addressing general and construction works.
Over the last few years, the company, which operates mostly in the public sector, has gradually abandoned the civil construction sector, concentrating its activity on the above sectors.
