Planning and execution of works urgently required to strengthen the cladding of the Bricchetto railway tunnel.

MAIN WORKS:

Works concerned the planning and execution of the urgent works for the strengthening and consolidation of the cladding of the Bricchetto tunnel at “km. 94+769 along the Asti – Acqui line, regarding the mouth and the section included between caches 6 and 7 following several damages detected during extraordinary inspections of the lines carried on 26 Nov. 2013, 28 Nov. 2013 and 03 Dec. 2013.

In detail:

- Consolidation and restoration of the masonry at the mouth of the tunnel and on the wing walls through the injection of chemical mixtures
- Continuous radial riveting with GFRP bars
- Consolidation of tunnel railing by injection of chemical mixtures
- Demolition and cutting of vertical surfaces
- Installation of passive tie-rods
- Milling of masonry and installation of recessed steel ribs
- Execution of sprayed concrete
- Execution of drainage system with the laying of micro-slotted pipes for drainage
- Monitoring
- Casting of the tunnel invert
